ABOUT

STUDIO HABITAT

Understanding ruination as inherent part of the urban environment we inhabit, will change our attitude towards nature. We should allow the inhabitants of the city, both nature and people, to experiment, to appropriate spaces and live in the city in a way they see fit. Instead of bracing our buildings against the influence of time, desperately denying the inevitable effects it will have on them, we try to find ways in which time will improve our designs, allowing people, plants and animals to flourish.

We take people seriously. In our communication, but also in the way we design. Sure, air-conditioning will cool a house on a hot day, but passive cooling techniques can do an even better job. It just takes some active care by the inhabitants. We trust that people can take care of themselves and their environment.

Through careful analysis, research and design we believe that we can improve the living conditions of both people and nature. We do this by providing them the only thing that an architect can offer: a proper space.
